The second side is viewed from the impersonal construction, which may include referent word as the subject. This article tries to discuss impersonal constructions in English, Spanish, and in Indonesian. The results show that there are two impersonal constructions namely dummy and empty subjects. In Spanish there is a single word sentence as a result of empty subject. Furthermore, there are two kinds of linking verbs of be in Spanish estar and ser. English and Indonesian show similar case.
